In the tables of the book, figures without a year note are for that year; national figures are limited to the statistics of 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in mainland China; regional figures are based on the administrative divisions at the end of that year. The income items in the rural economic income distribution table are productive income, excluding non-productive income, income remitted or brought back by family members from outside, income from the national budget, and gifts from relatives and friends. This differs from the statistical scope of the National Bureau of Statistics of China's "Sample Survey on Household Income and Expenditure of Farmers," so please pay attention to the distinction when using this data.
