Author: Ni Genjin, Editor-in-Chief
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2002-12-01
Features: The Collection contains over 800,000 words and includes three parts: (1) published papers; (2) mimeographed or printed manuscripts; (3) handwritten drafts. The third part is particularly valuable, with a "rescue" nature, as otherwise this agricultural research heritage might have been lost. Comrade Liang Jiamian is one of the pioneers of contemporary agricultural history research in China. This collection reflects his achievements in the following four areas: (1) research on ancient agricultural history texts; (2) studies on ancient agricultural scholars; (3) historical research on animals, plants, and certain agricultural resources; (4) research on the origins and development of traditional agricultural techniques. Comrade Liang Jiamian's success was undoubtedly influenced by many factors, such as his solid foundation in traditional Chinese studies, extensive knowledge of modern science, familiarity with catalogs of agricultural ancient texts, and so on. However, what is more important is his noble character. Humility, dedication, diligence, rigor, enthusiasm, and indifference to fame and fortune—these Chinese virtues are all embodied in him, making him worthy of admiration, learning, and promotion by future generations.
