Features: This album "Falling Fruit Trees" is divided into two parts: Part I General Overview, which is a compilation of materials from ancient Chinese books discussing fruit trees in general; Part II Deciduous Fruit Trees, which is a compilation of all deciduous fruit trees mentioned in ancient Chinese books, excluding the few primarily distributed in the south such as Phyllanthus emblica (the seeds of which are commonly known as "guganzi"). It includes over 50 species of fruit trees, belonging to genera such as Malus (apple), Pyrus (pear), Chaenomeles (quince), Crataegus (hawthorn), Prunus (peach), Persica (loquat), Pyrus (pear), Cerasus (cherry), Padus (mountain ash), Ziziphus (jujube), Elaeagnus (wolfberry), Vitis (grape), Actinidia (kiwifruit), Rubus (raspberry), Ficus (fig), Diospyros (persimmon), Punica (pomegranate), Castanea (chestnut), Corylus (hazel), Terminalia (silver berry), Pistacia (pistachio), Xanthoceras (bitter almond), and Lardizabala (lardizabala), as well as the evergreen fruit trees primarily distributed in northern China, such as Pinus (pine). The compilation includes production and other related information for these fruit trees. The "Selections" are categorized into four types: Part A (Botanical Treatises), Part B (Zoological Treatises), Part C (Agricultural Techniques), and Part D (Agricultural Economics). The subjects covered not only agricultural books but also include classics, histories, philosophies, local chronicles, personal notes, miscellaneous records, encyclopedias, and dictionaries.
