Features: With China's reform and opening-up, exchanges between China and countries around the world have become increasingly close. The influence and usage of Chinese language have also expanded globally. Chinese is becoming an important tool and bridge for many countries to develop friendly cooperative relations with China, engage in economic and trade activities, conduct scientific and technological cultural exchanges, and enhance friendship and understanding. China Central Television has always attached great importance to teaching Chinese to foreigners and has produced various series of television programs for teaching Chinese to people of different ages and professions. It has created opportunities for foreigners who have no chance to learn Chinese in classrooms or come to China, while also helping them gain the ability to directly understand China. To facilitate domestic and international audiences in learning the "Communicating Chinese" television series, we have organized the television programs into textbooks and produced accompanying audio cassettes and VCDs for review purposes. The "Communicating Chinese" textbook consists of 40 lessons, published in four volumes. Each volume contains 10 lessons, with Lesson 1 being a review lesson. The content of each lesson primarily focuses on spoken language, with situational dialogues set through the daily activities of characters, reflecting certain linguistic environments. This allows learners to gradually master everyday Chinese communication skills and develop interest in the language through learning spoken Chinese. To help beginners understand the meaning behind Chinese dialogues and quickly grasp Chinese communication skills, we have fully leveraged the advantages of television. We meticulously produced situational dialogues and provided Pinyin, Chinese characters, and English subtitles for new words and common phrases on the screen, ensuring that viewers see what they are learning, creating a language environment, and striving to deepen their impression.
