Theoretical linguistics and applied linguistics in China primarily address China's own practical problems, as our practical issues differ significantly from those in foreign countries. Our linguistic life is rich, but many practical situations lack sufficient research, and the problems are complex. If all conditions are ideal, research is challenging; if they are poor, research is equally difficult. Only when there is both development and shortcomings can research thrive. Strive to target China's actual conditions and solve its practical problems, seeking patterns from them. This is the main direction of theoretical development in Chinese linguistics and applied linguistics. The validation of theory lies in whether it solves practical problems, whether the linguistic life is rich and diverse, and whether the theory itself evolves.
Together, let us discuss academia, exchange ideas, produce results, nurture talent, foster a vibrant atmosphere, and develop methods, doing what we believe is necessary—all for the development of the team and theoretical framework in linguistics and applied linguistics.
