Author: Li Ke Guang

Publishing Date: 2005-01-01
Features: The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon Taixu is an early classic that classifies, studies, and annotates The Inner Canon. It is renowned in medical history alongside The Inner Canon, The Difficult Issues, and is ranked as one of the "Seven Classics." Due to its ancient origins, the text is archaic, the medical principles profound, and the manuscript has been repeatedly published and copied, leading to inevitable errors. This has made it challenging for readers to study it thoroughly. Therefore, it has been systematically organized, researched, and published as The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon Taixu: Annotated Edition, edited by Professor Li Ke Guang, Zheng Xiaochang, and others from Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon Taixu: Annotated Edition is one of the 11 key ancient medical classic projects supported by the Ministry of Health. This edition maintains the original book's format and academic achievements. Its key features are:
First, it uses the 1924 edition of the Xiao Yanping's Lanting Tang as the base text, which is scientific and accurate, ensuring the reliability of the annotations.
Second, it supplements the missing volumes of the original text, namely the sixteenth, twenty-first, twenty-second (still incomplete), fourth, seventh, eighteenth, and twentieth volumes.
Third, the annotation rules and preface are rigorous, following the General Principles for Annotating Ancient Chinese Medical Classics issued by the Ministry of Health, and embodying the spirit of inheriting, developing, organizing, and improving traditional Chinese medicine.
Fourth, the results of this organization and annotation are reflected in the table of contents, original text, annotations, and notes, with a macro perspective and detailed data.
Fifth, the book concludes with an afterword on the annotations, which is the crystallization of the organizers' research on The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon Taixu and holds significant academic value. Due to length constraints, the book is published in two volumes. The first volume includes volumes one to sixteen, while the second volume includes volumes seventeen to thirty.
