Features: CET-6 Candidates Face Many Worries: When taking the CET-4, English classes were still ongoing in school. Teachers scoured the internet for review materials, students practiced diligently, and teachers explained everything in detail. Teachers were afraid the students wouldn’t pass CET-4, as it seemed the students’ failure reflected the teachers’ teaching inadequacy. The school also placed great importance on CET-4, doing everything possible to provide convenience for the candidates. Although I once struggled with CET-4, looking back, it wasn’t that difficult. We pushed and pulled our way through it. Now, preparing for CET-6 feels like suddenly becoming an orphan neglected by everyone: English classes are gone, teachers no longer care, and the school emphasizes focusing on major courses, leaving candidates feeling isolated and helpless. CET-6 Candidates Have Many Questions: What does the CET-6 exam cover? How difficult is it? What are the differences between CET-6 and CET-4? How should I prepare for CET-6? Is there an easy way to pass CET-6 based on CET-4 knowledge and experience? The purpose of writing this book is to eliminate these worries and resolve these doubts for CET-6 candidates, helping them fully utilize their knowledge and experience from CET-4. By using comparative and contrastive methods, following the trajectory of the CET-4 exam, and climbing step by step, candidates can effortlessly pass the CET-6. This book is divided into five major parts based on the question types of the CET-6 exam: Listening Comprehension, Reading and Short Answer Questions, Vocabulary, Cloze and Error Correction, and Writing. Each part includes three interconnected components:
1. From CET-4 to CET-6: This section analyzes the similarities and differences between the same question types in CET-4 and CET-6 in terms of topics, genres, length, difficulty, question-setting methods, and content focus. Both similarities and differences are clearly presented in tables to help candidates accurately grasp the distinctions between the two exams, accurately assess their own level, identify gaps, and plan their review accordingly.
2. Mastering CET-4 to Advance to CET-6: "Reviewing the old to learn the new." If candidates thoroughly understand the content of the CET-4 exam, they are already very close to meeting the requirements for CET-6. Few candidates score above 90 on CET-4, and even those scoring above 80 are rare. This shows that although candidates have passed CET-4, they still have a certain gap from the full-mark requirement. However, this gap is still within the CET-4 level, which is not difficult for those who have passed CET-4. Therefore, to help CET-4-passed candidates improve their scores smoothly and effectively, this book carefully selects some CET-4 questions that reflect the goals of the CET-6 exam, controlling the difficulty slightly above that of CET-4. This allows candidates to improve steadily.
3. Climbing Up to Pass CET-6: With the foundation of CET-4 question training, candidates’ abilities have reached the halfway point between CET-4 and CET-6. At this stage, if someone gently pulls them up, they can easily reach the CET-6 platform. In each part (or question type), the third chapter first includes some questions slightly below the CET-6 level (equivalent to CET-5) to smoothly connect with the second chapter, allowing candidates to adapt to the increased difficulty more easily. Then, standard CET-6 difficulty questions are selected for sufficient practice, ensuring candidates fully reach CET-6 level. From the second to the third chapter, the difficulty of the questions gradually increases, like climbing steps. This provides candidates with excellent conditions to improve their practical skills steadily.
As the saying goes, "Diligence rewards the." We believe that this (exam preparation guide), carefully designed and organized by tutoring teachers specifically for CET-6 candidates who have passed CET-4, will definitely help candidates achieve their goals smoothly.
