Features: Most middle school students start learning English from textbooks, but not many truly master and learn them well. Most of their effort is put into memorizing vocabulary, analyzing key and difficult points, and doing a large number of exercises and test questions, while neglecting to learn the English language itself through extensive reading of the text. This is a misplaced priority, and as a result, their practical English application skills fall short, with widespread poor performance in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. This is a common misconception in English learning. English textbooks are systematically comprehensive, making them the best material for middle school students to learn English. Experience has proven that reading the text thoroughly, earnestly, and repeatedly is an effective method for learning English. However, it is essential to fully understand the pronunciation, meaning, and sentence structure of every word and sentence in the text, firmly grasp them, accurately comprehend the entire passage, and then repeatedly read it until it becomes second nature, forming a sense of language. In this way, English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills will naturally improve, and even difficult problems encountered in exams will be easily solved. Moreover, memorizing words and understanding grammar within the overall linguistic context of the text is far more effective than learning them in isolation. Therefore, middle school students urgently need a book that provides detailed and comprehensive annotations, translations, and explanations for English textbooks.
To address this situation, we have organized experienced teachers to create this book based on the new curriculum standards, closely following the People's Education Press's Experimental Course Standards for Compulsory Education English Textbooks. It provides annotations, translations, and explanations for most words in the text, including phonetic symbols, word meanings, translations of every sentence, and phrases for some sentences, all presented directly. Additionally, it includes reference answers to the exercises in the textbook. With this book, students can overcome learning obstacles, save time and effort by avoiding the need to constantly look up dictionaries or grammar books, and make the process of reading the text enjoyable and effortless. Over time, they will be able to fully grasp the textbook, lay a solid foundation, and improve their English skills. The effect is particularly significant for middle school students in the foundational stage.
