Features: Misuse and overuse of conjunctive words have always been a persistent problem in Chinese language teaching at primary and secondary schools. While many grammar books have extensively discussed and summarized the use of conjunctive words, there has never been a comprehensive and detailed reference book on them. Inspired by this, we compiled the "Dictionary of Conjunctive Words" to collect and explain modern Chinese conjunctive words, published by Sichuan Cishu Press. Recently, based on feedback from primary and secondary school students, Chinese language teachers, and enthusiasts, we made necessary revisions and deletions to the original book, renaming it the "Concise Dictionary of Conjunctive Words." The revised edition is more aligned with readers' needs. The study of the usage of conjunctive words is a study of grammatical facts, and at its core, it is a case study. Therefore, to explain the usage of conjunctive words, it is essential to provide numerous example sentences for illustration and verification. In his article "Random Talks on Grammar Research," Mr. Lü Shuxiang pointed out: "In any grammar book or paper, example sentences are an important component, sometimes even the main part. Well-chosen example sentences can make explanations simpler, enabling readers to infer the principles from them. No matter how much effort is put into the explanatory part, it is difficult to fully convey the message to readers." The key method of this book's compilation is case-based explanation, using a rich variety of example sentences to illustrate the usage of conjunctive words. To this end, we spent considerable time and effort collecting numerous example sentences from hundreds of modern masterpieces, compiling them into cards, categorizing and organizing them, summarizing usage, and selecting "sentences that precisely illustrate the point." These example sentences take into account the need to reflect different usages of conjunctive words while also considering the diversity of genres and styles. Some are drawn from literary works, political essays, and others from scientific expository texts. They include both written and spoken language.
