Features: Idioms are a unique gem in the garden of ancient Chinese culture. Three Hundred Idiom Stories is a picture-illustrated, phonetically annotated reading material. It selects three hundred commonly used idioms and newly adopted in local Chinese language textbooks, compiling three hundred complete and vivid short stories based on them, suitable for students to read and accumulate. Three Hundred Idiom Stories is composed of four parts: origin, story, annotations, and illustrations. It has the following features:
1. The stories are compiled according to the reading thinking of primary and secondary school students, with short and concise length, lively, and engaging content. These stories either introduce the origins of idioms or narrate how predecessors used them. The content is divided into six categories: Morality, Behavior, Skills, Methods, Exploration, and Society, allowing students to absorb moral thoughts and aesthetic education subconsciously while understanding the stories. Each story is phonetically annotated, creating independent reading conditions for lower-grade students with limited literacy.
2. Each story is followed by idiomatic annotations. The annotations first explain the literal meaning of the word, then the metaphorical meaning of the idiom, striving for accuracy and conciseness to enable students to understand without a teacher, enjoying the process.
3. Each idiom is marked with its origin. The origin is excerpted from the original text, and difficult characters in the original text are also phonetically annotated when necessary. Idioms have been passed down to this day due to their concise wording and profound wisdom. By reading this book, students can accurately grasp the meanings of idioms and attempt to use them in their compositions, making their writing shine; by citing anecdotes in discussions, they can strengthen their arguments.
