Features: Alben was an outstanding cornet player of his time, with exceptional performing talent. During his tours across various countries in Europe, he repeatedly achieved brilliant results, which significantly influenced the popularity of the piston cornet as one of the favored instruments of the people. His artistic ideals, extraordinary musical abilities, and valuable teaching principles are fully embodied in this classic work, "Cornet-Trombone Tutor," which has attained authoritative status among similar publications. Its practicality and ingenious design far surpass other works. Professor Zhu has written extensively throughout his life, covering a wide range of topics, with a substantial number of compositions related to the cornet. Today, on the tenth anniversary of Professor Zhu's passing, we are particularly moved to appreciate his immense contributions to the development of the cornet in China when re-releasing this "Cornet-Trombone Tutor" translated and annotated by him in 1957. For half a century, generations of students have grown up alongside this "tutor." Professor Zhu's disciples have spread across the country, many serving as principal cornets in major orchestras, a remarkable achievement. For this reissue, we have added 130 songs and opera excerpts that were not included in the original, arranged roughly by difficulty level. We believe that studying these pieces will greatly enhance students' musicality and expressive abilities, while also enriching the comprehensiveness and practicality of this "tutor."
