Features: The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is an important economic cooperation forum in the Asia-Pacific region. The forum aims to promote multilateral free trade and investment and foster regional economic growth, adhering to the principles of voluntary and consensus-based cooperation. Since its establishment, it has made outstanding contributions to promoting trade and investment liberalization and economic and technological cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as to regional economic development and common prosperity, becoming an important bond connecting countries and regions on both sides of the Pacific. In the process of conducting foreign exchanges and participating in international cooperation, the government's foreign policy decisions have been strongly supported by domestic academic institutions. Academic institutions and universities across the country have provided a large number of scientific and objective consulting reports and research findings to China's foreign affairs departments, as well as many valuable policy recommendations. Recently, the APEC Research Center at Nankai University organized scholars in relevant fields to conduct in-depth research on several major issues in the development process of APEC and wrote nine monographs. These academic achievements, starting from a theoretical perspective and combining APEC cooperation practices and China's participation in cooperation, analyze and explore the challenges and opportunities APEC faces in the new historical period, proposing recommendations on how China can more deeply engage in the cooperation process. These works have high research and reference value. This book elaborates on services and service trade, international service trade under the multilateral trade system, the development of service trade within the APEC region, and the development of service trade in APEC member economies.
