Features: The Moorish general Othello and the daughter of the Venetian senator Desdemona fall in love. With the help of the Duke, they can openly be together. However, this is a love without blessings, surrounded only by jealousy and hatred. The schemer Iago uses various tricks to vent his frustration for not being promoted to a lieutenant. He weaves a web of deceit, leading Cassio to act inappropriately under the influence of alcohol and lose his position as a lieutenant. He subtly hints to Othello, repeatedly using fabricated facts to prove that Desdemona is having an affair with Cassio—the love token ends up in Cassio's hands, Cassio avoids him, and his beloved wife even pleads for Cassio despite his furious rage. Is his wife an angel or a devil? Othello, the general, can no longer hide his fierce jealousy and picks up the sword that has killed countless enemies. Othello is one of Shakespeare's four great tragedies. Shakespeare was a great playwright and poet during the European Renaissance. He was born in 1564 in a citizen family in the town of Stratford-upon-Avon in central England. Around 1590, he joined a theater troupe and worked as a stablehand, a theater assistant, and an actor before beginning his career as a writer. He left behind 37 surviving plays, two long poems, and 154 sonnets, making him a prolific writer. The Phonetic Color Illustrated Edition of World Literature Classics series, which we are launching this time, is a carefully illustrated and edited collection specially dedicated to young readers. Its illustrated format and standard phonetic annotations that meet primary school teaching standards fully meet the reading needs of elementary school students.
