Business Travel Adventures

Author: Chu Jiwang
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2005-01-01
Features: This is the author's seventh book and is a sister piece to "My Experiences with Foreigners." The author has traveled across five continents and visited 34 countries, leaving her with so much material to write about. Many of the pieces are often written spontaneously, without even the time to reread them, let alone to plan, revise, or polish. These articles roughly outline my decades-long business journey—experiences with both failure and success, setbacks and smooth sailing, lessons and insights; the truth and falsehood, goodness and evil, black and white, cunning and sincerity, nobility and debasement I have witnessed; the bitterness and sweetness, hardship and joy, struggle and ease, confusion and inspiration I have felt. All of this is poured onto the page, with the purpose of summarizing my own experiences while also providing reference and enlightenment for peers and future generations. "Why must one toil in vain through life?" I am willing to be the tailor for others' wedding dresses. I am not an "ink-splashing scholar," and this book would not qualify to be included in the halls of literary fame, but rather as "folk songs and rustic tunes," "harsh and discordant, difficult to listen to."
