Features: Experts are called experts not only because of their correct interpretation of real life, but more importantly because they can make scientific predictions about the future. Look at the predictions experts have made about China's prospects, which will provide strong support for formulating regional, departmental, organizational, and individual development strategies, plans, and scientific decision-making. The importance of the "Three Rural" issues requires us to strengthen research on them, predict their future trends, and thus provide feasible and actionable recommendations for the central and local government's decision-making. To this end, we organized some faculty and students from the School of Agricultural and Rural Development at Renmin University of China to write this book based on their respective research topics. During the discussion of the book's outline, we found that the field of "Three Rural" issues is indeed very vast. According to our understanding, agricultural issues are mainly about the supply of agricultural products and international competitiveness. That is: (1) How to ensure the supply of agricultural products for a country with a population of 1.3 billion under the socialist market economy system? (2) We face an open international market, and convenient transportation has made fierce international competition domesticated. In this context, how can we improve the competitiveness of agriculture based on small households? (3) Under the WTO framework, government actions are greatly restricted. Then, what strategies should the Chinese government adopt to support and protect agriculture to achieve the above goals? Rural issues are comprehensive development issues, including the development of non-agricultural industries in rural areas, rural urbanization, rural labor transfer, rural land system reform, rural financial system reform, etc. The issue of farmers is mainly about rights and interests, including farmers' income issues, education issues, medical and health issues, social security issues, etc. Based on the above understanding and in combination with our ongoing research topics, we have divided this book into two parts with a total of 13 chapters to discuss the main aspects of the "Three Rural" issues.
