Features: As the saying goes, "Mountains and rivers may change, but character is hard to alter." This is essentially saying that there is no inherent connection between a person's character change and improvement and their living environment, which is indeed a prejudice. One must first change and perfect their character before they can change and perfect their circumstances. Good character is actually quite simple—it simply means being able to take things up when facing challenges and let go when necessary, being open-minded, and not being overly (calculating or petty). When dealing with people, one should be tolerant, kind, and treat everyone equally. As a result, people with good character rarely suffer from worries, maintain a healthy mindset, and tend to live longer. So, if we are unable to achieve greatness or stand out, we might as well strive to be people with good character. Good character is a commendable trait. Those born with good character may not be wealthy or prosperous, but they can live freely and happily. People with good character can bend and stretch, know when to advance and retreat, and endure both success and failure. They do not overthink small gains or losses, remain calm in both success and failure, and are thus able to achieve great things. One step forward from a mistake becomes truth; one slight change in character becomes goodness. Loving mountains and rivers more than people, one must first shift character before shifting circumstances.
