Features: To ensure the safety and effectiveness of medication, further strengthen the management of wild ginseng, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers, we conducted investigations and research on the collection, processing, and identification of wild ginseng in response to the above situation since 1993, and reviewed a large amount of relevant materials and literature. Especially during the three years from 1996 to 1998, we visited the current production areas of wild ginseng in China—the Fusong, Jingyu, Hengren, Jianshan, Tonghua, Changbai, Huinan, and Yanji regions of the Changbai Mountains—three times in total. We conducted detailed investigations and research on the history, ecology, environment, distribution, lineages, resources, collection, processing, and identification of wild ginseng, achieving encouraging results. On-site, we collected and took a large number of valuable materials and photographs. Now, we have selected some of them and compiled this book in a form that combines text and illustrations. This monograph not only reflects the inheritance of China's traditional medical heritage but also, through the author's meticulous investigation and organization, creatively makes it a relatively complete and systematic set of wild ginseng identification techniques. Its practicality and operability are very strong. The publication of this book will greatly facilitate wild ginseng operators, scientific and technical personnel engaged in traditional Chinese medicine inspection, and a broad consumer base in identifying and recognizing wild ginseng. This monograph will undoubtedly play a driving role in the healthy development of China's ginseng and antler industry and contribute to the traditional Chinese medical science.
