Features: The Research on Distance Education mainly includes four parts. The first part, consisting of three chapters, primarily discusses the history and development of distance education. The chapter provides an overview of the history, current status, and future of distance education, as well as the historical development and maturity of theoretical research and discipline construction in distance education. The second and third chapters examine the historical origins, development, stages, and future prospects of distance education in the world and China, respectively. The structure of distance education's branches and the fundamental concepts and principles of each branch are integral components of the theoretical system of distance education. The third part discusses distance teaching and distance learning, including system analysis, design, and decision-making in distance education, information technology and media instruction in distance education, distance teaching, course development, and resource construction, as well as distance learning, distance learning, and learning support services. The appendix of The Research on Distance Education includes references for teaching, learning, and further research.
