Features: "Are you afraid that affection will turn into indulgence?" A sociological father shares his philosophy on affection. "Do you shy away from talking about sex with your children?" A sex scholar father teaches you how to properly conduct children's sex education. Traditional Chinese culture has always opposed indulging children. However, affection is not aimless indulgence. This book attempts to explore the "rules" of affection rather than indulgence. Many of its viewpoints challenge conventional parenting beliefs. We tell people: Children never make mistakes; it is always adults who do. If a child does not accept a rule, it is always the rule itself that is the problem. Children never lie; lying is often a manifestation of their drive to improve, and adults misinterpret it. There are no "problem children"; the very idea of labeling a child as "problematic" indicates that the problem lies with the adults. Children do not "behave badly" or "cause trouble"; what adults label as such are behaviors born from a failure to truly understand a child's heart. Encourage children's vanity; vanity is also one of the motivations for growth. As a sociological scholar of sexuality, sex education was undoubtedly another important theme in the writing of this book. Sex education should begin the moment a child is born; what we now call sex education is merely catching up.
