Features: This book primarily discusses the meaning of public policy, the composition of the policy system, the role of policy models, the process of policy making, the conditions for policy implementation, the function of policy evaluation, and the concept of policy termination. Although specific policies in contemporary society are mentioned in the explanations of each chapter and certain analyses and comments are provided on related issues, the book does not dedicate a separate chapter to specific public policies such as agricultural policy, educational policy, fiscal policy, or population policy. The main reason for this approach lies in the "introductory" nature of the book. In China, the teaching and research of public policy studies are still in the learning and initial stages, and the absorption and assimilation of modern policy theories and their research methods remain our primary tasks. However, during the process of introducing these theories, it is crucial to focus on transplantation and achieve the localization of policy theories. Therefore, this book emphasizes the practical application of theory and pays attention to the analysis and resolution of real-world problems. Moreover, to avoid the undesirable tendency of "the same tree bears different fruits in different regions," the book, while emphasizing localization, also pays attention to the normative framework of the policy science system.
