Features: I never had the courage to confess to Hu Shan. In my memory, the most vivid scenes are two— one is Hu Shan sitting on the pile of gravel, choked up and saying, "I want my mom," and another is me quietly pulling out the matchstick from Hu Shan's tower. I wondered if I had pulled out a support in Hu Shan's life. Invisible Balcony, Kiss Kiss Sisters' Slope, Angel Knows I Love Him, and The Most Beautiful Accident are four youth picture novels meticulously presented by Wu Meizhen and Yu Yu Jun. These novels are composed of a magnificent garment formed by the vibrant spirit of youth, the dynamic emotions of youth, and the magnificent yet innocent dreams of youth. Yu Yu Jun's works have always infected readers with their lively and youthful energy, her words brimming with vitality, dynamism, tension, and a sense of fashion. Angel Knows I Love Him is a collection of four short stories. Her short stories largely resemble youthful declarations full of vigor or youthful banners fluttering in the wind. The Most Beautiful Accident is also a collection of four short stories. Yu Yu Jun often enters her works in the first-person perspective, freely observing and portraying the young men and women around her, while also effortlessly expressing her own inner world and emotions. Wu Meizhen's Invisible Balcony and Kiss Kiss Sisters' Slope are two long novels full of exploration. The protagonist of Invisible Balcony is a sixteen-year-old girl who witnesses her aunt's innocent yet persistent love. In the book, she is both a witness and a participant. In a sense, this is a book that reflects the theme of "education of love." Her aunt's attitude toward love—determined, patient, and hopeful—is full of fairy-tale and idealistic colors. In Wu Meizhen's novels, there is a thick, indissoluble tenderness. This is one of the main reasons why her works are so well-received by readers. Kiss Kiss Sisters' Slope is a long novel about the conflicts and grievances between sisters from a broken family. She vividly portrays the strong-willed, jealous, selfish, and narrow-minded psychology of a young girl. Whether in Invisible Balcony or in Kiss Kiss Sisters' Slope, the author skillfully constructs her stories based on the correspondence between characters' personalities and destinies. Moreover, she reveals the inner worlds of characters and the emotional conflicts between people very well. Both of these long novels carry a tragic hue. Wu Meizhen likes to gradually destroy these beautiful emotions and humanity in a graceful way, allowing us to learn to cherish and protect them. Her works are all tinged with a melancholic tone. The illustrations in this set of youth picture novels can be said to be an interpretation of the works' imagery. Every detail related to youth is vividly depicted. Although youth is a magnificent garment, it also carries the taste of tears and the feeling of pain.
