Features: Life and health should be the most precious things in life. Health and disease are issues that the whole society pays close attention to, as they are closely related to the vital interests of every individual and family. Leaders of the Ministry of Health and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine attach great importance to this topic that is highly valued by the entire society. They have established a health work policy that prioritizes prevention over treatment, rather than just focusing on treating diseases when they occur. In 2000, to actively implement the spirit of Comrade Jiang Zemin's instructions to advocate science and vigorously promote the popularization of scientific knowledge, as well as the speech by Vice Premier Li Lanqing at the televised and telephoned meeting on health education for 900 million farmers across the country, a medical knowledge popularization campaign titled "Healthy Homes – Ten Years of Medical Science Popularization for Every Household" was meticulously organized and planned. To make this event vibrant and impactful, Minister Zhang Wenkang not only personally served as the director of the campaign's organizing committee but also personally organized and edited the educational materials for the event – the Health Education Series. The series consists of 78 volumes, introducing general knowledge about nearly 100 common diseases, disease signals, home care, medication dos and don'ts, and other preventive and treatment knowledge, while providing patients with information related to their specific conditions. The aim is to raise the health awareness and physical fitness of the entire nation, delivering health knowledge to every family.
