Features: This book has been revised in the following aspects. Eight new exercises for the humanities section of the Level 8 exam have been added as Chapter 6. This chapter aligns with the new exam syllabus, featuring 160 practice questions organized into three categories: social and cultural of major English-speaking countries, British and American literature, and English linguistics knowledge. Answers and detailed analyses are provided. The content of Chapter 3, which focuses on classified practice for rapid reading skills in the Level 8 exam, has been condensed, and the rapid reading exercises in Chapter 4, which cover classified reading materials, have been removed. This was done for two reasons: first, although the Level 8 exam does not test rapid reading, the selection principles of the new exam syllabus explicitly emphasize the diversity of genres in reading materials, and Chapter 3 provides a variety of genres including expository texts, advertisements, instructions, and charts. Second, the removal of the rapid reading section in the Level 8 exam does not mean a decrease in the difficulty of the reading test; on the contrary, the requirements for reading are higher and faster. Chapter and other content inconsistent with the new exam syllabus have been revised, and most of the content in the introduction to the English Level 8 exam has been updated. New content comparing the old and new exam syllabi has been added, fully reflecting the spirit of the 2000 teaching syllabus and the 2004 exam syllabus.
