The purpose of editing this book is to help English major students in their third and fourth years prepare for the English Band 8 examination. The editors have carefully analyzed and studied the professional English Band 8 examination over the past ten years and attempted to write this book according to the requirements and patterns of the listening test. It is believed that this book will be helpful to students preparing for the English Band 8 examination and English enthusiasts. In March 2004, the Teaching Guidance Committee for College English Majors introduced a new "College English Band 8 Examination Syllabus," which made significant adjustments to the English Band 8 examination. It can be said that the new syllabus not only changed the questions of the original examination but also increased its difficulty. Based on our study of the examination syllabus, we have rewritten the "Listening Workbook."
