The protagonist, Holmes, became a globally renowned figure. In 2002, the Royal Society of Chemistry in the UK even posthumously inducted the detective novel character Holmes as an honorary member, an honor previously only given to Nobel laureates or outstanding scholars and industrialists. Conan Doyle's novels have rigorous structures, bizarre and captivating plots. The literary characters he created are vividly distinct, and in his writing, he integrated pathology, psychology, and other fields into detective art, forming a unique style of detective fiction.
