Features: This is a Beijing-flavored novel. The story takes place in Beijing during the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. Born in the countryside, the leopard cat Black Tiger, with its intelligence, rarity, and fierceness, becomes the pet of a prince. It travels thousands of miles to find its master, fights foxes, captures weasels, battles earth snakes, defeats shepherding dogs and Japanese ronin, and even travels across the ocean to France.
