Features: Vocabulary is the foundation of a language. If a language is likened to a building, then vocabulary can be seen as the bricks and grammar as the cement. Therefore, the mastery and application of vocabulary are not only the focus of language learning but also the key to language testing. It has been proven that the biggest obstacle students face in English exams is insufficient vocabulary and a lack of accurate grasp of word and phrase collocations. This is manifested in: candidates often not understanding reading passages thoroughly in exams; selecting incorrect answers in multiple-choice questions that seem to involve simple grammar structures and vocabulary; inaccurate sentence translation; using incorrect words in writing; and being unable to express their thoughts appropriately with suitable vocabulary, and so on. Vocabulary learning is the backbone of advanced English learning, and by grasping the main points, one can see the details. Therefore, we have organized the writing of the "Golden English Vocabulary Collection" series, aiming to provide candidates with a quick method for memorizing vocabulary and expecting that through intensive vocabulary training, candidates will achieve a qualitative breakthrough in their vocabulary memory, enabling them to achieve outstanding results in the CET-4 and CET-6 exams.
Professor Zhong Daolong, a renowned expert in English linguistics and test-taking strategies, holds the view that practice tests can only assess students' learning levels but cannot improve them. High-quality practice tests are sufficient to be done in a few sets; the key is to identify one's own shortcomings. Based on this perspective, this book is divided into three parts: Part 1, Detailed Explanations of Past Exam Questions, aims to help students identify their weaknesses from highly credible past exam questions and provide guiding suggestions for their review; Part 2, Simulated Practice, selects classic exam questions that comprehensively cover the vocabulary required to be mastered according to the syllabus, with detailed annotations to help students engage more deeply with the syllabus vocabulary; Part 3, Effectiveness Testing, adopts the principle of being concise yet effective, selecting three sets of test questions to allow students to assess their learning levels.
