Features: "Tactile Diagnosis" is an important component of the massage textbook for the blind. It studies the diagnosis through palpation of the skin and mucous membranes covering the human body, the superficial fascia and deep fascia beneath the skin, the muscles and bones or joints deep within the fascia, and the skeletal or joint structures deep within the muscles. It aims to master these anatomical structures and layers, and to distinguish and judge them through touch, understanding their normal anatomical relationships, abnormal pathological changes, and different responses before and after manual therapy. Through this course, the unique tactile sensitivity of the blind can be fully utilized, integrating the key points of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques into the tactile process. This not only helps improve the diagnostic level of blind massage but also enhances the effectiveness of massage therapy. "Tactile Diagnosis" is divided into eight chapters: Introduction to Tactile Diagnosis, Head and Face Palpation, Neck Palpation, Chest and Back Palpation, Lumbar and Gluteal Palpation, Upper Limb Palpation, Lower Limb Palpation, and Hand and Foot Palpation. These chapters basically cover the professional scope of "Tactile Diagnosis," providing a relatively complete and systematic explanation of the basic theories, knowledge, and basic skills of manual operation in this discipline, reflecting the new achievements of integrated Chinese and Western medicine in tactile diagnosis. "Tactile Diagnosis" is a newly introduced course in higher education for blind massage. During the writing process, efforts were made to review the content learned by students in basic courses to meet the needs of clinical courses and to strive to make it serve as a bridge course. However, due to the of blind students, many visual teaching contents need to be expressed in words, which will inevitably bring certain difficulties to classroom teaching and demonstrations. It is hoped that those engaged in teaching in this field will continuously explore experience in practice, create a teaching method suitable for higher education in blind massage, and at the same time, continuously revise the content of "Tactile Diagnosis" to make it more adaptable to the development needs of higher education in blind massage.
