Features: Research on endangered languages is still in its early stages both domestically and internationally. Linguists have yet to fully understand the status of these languages, and many theoretical questions remain to be explored and resolved. Therefore, we believe that the primary task at this stage should be to record and describe as many existing endangered languages as possible. This is not only necessary for understanding endangered languages but also essential for their preservation. Theories of endangered languages can only be established on a scientific understanding of their current status and historical evolutionary patterns. Without this foundation, theoretical insights into endangered languages will lack accuracy and reliability. The emergence of endangered languages is a global issue, and there are commonalities in their emergence and evolution across different countries. However, due to differing national conditions and histories, the characteristics and evolutionary patterns of endangered languages will also vary. Research on China's endangered languages must focus on exploring their unique characteristics and evolutionary patterns, establishing its own distinct contributions.
