Features: The construction of e-government is the foundation and catalyst for national informatization. Geographic spatial information, as a carrier for describing and depicting the processing and dynamic changes of e-government, has gradually been recognized and accepted by decision-makers. The establishment of a scientific development concept for coordinated economic and social development has raised higher requirements for e-government, while also providing broad space for the application of geographic spatial information and technology. The authors combine theoretical analysis with practical examples to explore the application models of geographic spatial information in mainstream e-government business, aiming to accelerate the application and expansion of geographic spatial information and contribute its modest efforts to the construction of the economy and society. This book calls for more dedicated individuals to engage in the field of geographic spatial information application.
The book discusses the technical and methodological aspects of data organization, management, and comprehensive application of geographic spatial information technology in mainstream e-government business. It also provides detailed descriptions of these methods through specific examples. The first half of the book elaborates on the current state of e-government in China and its specific demands for geographic spatial information, covering topics such as the organization of geographic spatial information, methods of its use, the relationship between geographic spatial information and technology and mainstream e-government business, as well as the application and development of geographic spatial information for e-government.
The second half of the book, using concrete cases, provides detailed explanations and discussions on the application methods, processes, existing issues, and development of geographic spatial information and technology in professional and comprehensive e-government business across various departments. This book was supported by the National High-Tech R&D Program (863 Program) project "Application Demonstration of Regional Remote Sensing—Economic and Information Spatial Integration System."
