Features: Basic knowledge and basic skills (referred to as "double basics") are the foundation of learning English and the key to whether students can master the language. Therefore, the training and practice of "double basics" are the focus of this exercise set. Following the characteristics of the subject, this exercise is compiled unit by unit, closely aligning with the requirements of secondary school English textbooks, providing detailed explanations and repeated practice of the key and difficult points in the textbooks. Each unit is divided into two major sections. In the "Objectives" section, the vocabulary, sentence patterns, and topics to be mastered in the unit are summarized, along with related extended content. In the "Basic Knowledge Test," we have arranged a large number of vocabulary, sentence pattern, and grammar exercises to help students truly grasp the key points of the unit. The reading passages and topics selected for each unit highlight the features of the new textbooks, emphasizing the practicality, novelty, and creativity of the language, while ensuring the content is rich and diverse, as close as possible to the learning and lives of secondary school students. The content includes news and current events, science and technology, ecological issues, human and nature, and even socially SARS disease, integrating knowledge, interest, and timeliness. The compilers have strived to select authentic English materials while revising more challenging content to prevent students from being discouraged. This exercise set provides students with a platform for learning and using English, hoping it will help develop their creative thinking and showcase their individuality and talent. This exercise set also includes mid-term and final comprehensive tests, featuring novel and flexible question types that align with the task-based nature of the textbook. These tests are designed to be both challenging and, closely resembling the secondary school examination questions. We believe this set of "Synchronous Exercises for Secondary School English" can also serve as a valuable reference for teachers in preparing lessons and a helpful tool for parents in assessing their children's English learning progress.
