Features: This book is one of the "International Business Japanese Series Textbooks." Its main characteristics can be summarized as follows:
1. Emphasis on Practicality. This book breaks away from the conventional approach of translation textbooks that focus solely on theory. It decisively moves beyond the unrealistic, application-free, and translation-for-translation trap, establishing a mindset centered on practical work. It integrates theoretical introductions and applications into specific translation practices. Using this textbook will make students feel, "Translation can and must be studied seriously, and translation classes will bring us tangible benefits."
2. Innovative Content. The book is divided into two parts: "Japanese to Chinese" and "Chinese to Japanese," which are interrelated yet independent. The "Japanese to Chinese" section consists of ten lessons, covering topics such as: Japan's tertiary industry; an overview of post-war Japanese economy; the latest trends in China-Japan economic and trade relations; and cutting-edge reports on China's economic reforms. Each lesson includes text, vocabulary, translations, translation techniques, and example sentences. Students not only learn translation techniques and theories but can also directly acquire practical and immediately applicable translations of new words and sentences from the text, truly embodying the principle of learning by doing and seeing immediate results. The "Chinese to Japanese" section consists of twelve lessons and has a larger volume than the "Japanese to Chinese" section. This arrangement is based on the following considerations: First, the translation skills of Chinese students in "Chinese to Japanese" are often weaker than in "Japanese to Chinese," requiring reinforcement. Second, learning a foreign language is not just about understanding foreign countries through the language but, more importantly, using the language as a tool to introduce and promote our country.
3. The two authors of this book are not only highly experienced in teaching but also actively engaged in translation work on the front lines, possessing extensive practical translation experience.
4. This book originates from the teaching front lines and has been repeatedly used and revised in teaching activities.
