After living a life of running away, wandering, and even begging, she finally married the master she had always longed for and eventually found happiness. Jane Eyre lost her parents at a young age, and her difficult life made her character introverted yet strong. While working as a governess at Thornfield Hall, she fell in love with her employer, Rochester. Rochester's eccentric personality and the mysterious nights at Thornfield Hall puzzled Jane Eyre until the truth was revealed at the wedding. It turned out that Rochester was already married, and his wife was a woman suffering from hereditary mental illness, who had been locked in the attic. In despair, Jane Eyre left Thornfield Hall, but she still loved Rochester in her heart, and Rochester was also searching for her everywhere. After a series of twists and turns, when she finally returned to Thornfield, it had already been destroyed. Written in a lyrical and melancholic tone, the novel narrates a heart-stirring love story that caused a sensation in the world upon its publication.
Charlotte Bront? (1816–1855) was an English novelist and the sister of Emily Bront?. She was born in a remote village in Yorkshire, northern England, to a poor clergyman. She and several of her sisters were sent to a harsh and poorly conditioned boarding school. Charlotte worked as a teacher and a governess, and she also studied French and classical literature in Brussels, Belgium, with her sister Emily in 1842. Charlotte's works primarily depict the solitude, rebellion, and struggles of impoverished petty bourgeoisie, and they belong to the "outstanding group" that Marx called "the outstanding group" led by Dickens. Jane Eyre was her debut novel and also her masterpiece, which remains popular with readers today. Charlotte also published poetry collections, and her other novels include Shirley (1849), Villette (1853), and The Professor (1857).
