Features: Trees and figures in genre paintings hold equal importance in landscape art, but in China's art education, the study of trees has far less attention compared to the study of the human body. It can also be said that tree anatomy applied to artistic creation remains a virgin territory in China. The publication of this book fills a gap in this academic field. The content of the book: Part 1 explores the relationship between humans and trees. In the long process of human evolution, the dependence on plants formed a connection with greenery. This is the foundation for the creation and appreciation of landscape paintings. Part 2 delves into the anatomy of trees. Through the classification of plants and the analysis of tree organs, it reveals the basis for the external features of trees; the physiological structure of trees, their age, and the influence of natural or unnatural forces on their external appearance. Part 3 provides a comprehensive introduction to the painting of trees. It focuses on the application of principles such as perspective, light and shadow, and color in depicting solitary and clustered trees, especially in terms of color. The book is richly illustrated with images, where sometimes the images serve as "illustrations" to the text, and sometimes the text serves as "commentary" to the images. All the images are either creations or studies, reflecting the trees as seen by the artist rather than by a natural scientist.
