1. Hang Xinzhai (1968-1924), styled Shenxiu, was a native of Haining County, Zhejiang Province, in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, hence also known as the "Mr. Haining." During his youth, he ranked among the top candidates in the imperial examinations. Later, he studied under Chen Shuyu and Li Chenke in the capital, served as a proofreader at the Wenyuan Pavilion, gaining access to rare books, and attended Tongwen College, where he studied mathematics, physics, and other subjects, achieving a comprehensive understanding of both Eastern and Western knowledge.
2. Hang Xinzhai once organized the "Academic Research Society for the Zhouyi," known as Yanji Xueshe, where he served as the main lecturer on the Zhouyi and wrote the six-volume "Yi Xie" (Commentary on the Zhouyi) as his lecture notes. Additionally, he authored works such as "Initial Notes on Learning the Zhouyi," "Further Notes on Learning the Zhouyi," "Random Observations on Yi Numerology," "Miscellaneous Notes on Reading the Zhouyi," "Correction of Shen Shi's Annotations on the Zhouyi," and "Shen Shi's Revised Method of Divining with Yarrow Sticks." These works are collectively titled "Seven Works of Hang's Yi Studies," published by Yanji Xueshe in the eighth year of the Republic of China.
3. Hang Xinzhai made many insightful contributions to the study of the symbolic and numerical methods of the Zhouyi and their applications in natural sciences, which have provided significant inspiration and guidance for modern research in natural sciences. Therefore, Zhouyi Studio, based on the eighth-year edition of Yanji Xueshe, organized a team of Yi scholars to proofread, collate, and organize the "Seven Works of Hang's Yi Studies" to meet the needs of.

6. Zhouyi Studio conducted a meticulous proofreading of the source text, correcting all obvious errors without leaving proofreading marks. Doubtful points are marked with small notes.
7. The punctuation in this book follows the current standardized punctuation rules, combining with the general practices of punctuation in ancient texts. However, em-dashes, ellipses, underscores, and proper noun marks are not used. No interword separators are used in the main text. Commas are added between parallel book titles for distinction.
8. Literary processing. Simplified Chinese characters are based on the "Regulations for Literary Usage," "Table of Simplified Characters," and "List of Rectified Variant Characters" issued by the National Literary Work Committee, with reference to the "Cihai" (Comprehensive Dictionary) and the "Chinese Character Dictionary." Unresolved issues follow the general practices of ancient text collation. All text is simplified where possible. Ancient characters, non-standard characters, or obvious printing errors in the source text are uniformly replaced with standardized simplified characters. Obvious errors are corrected directly. Otherwise, the original text is retained without changes.
9. Renowned Yi scholar Wang Lijun provided the necessary source text for Zhouyi Studio and guided the entire collation process. His contributions are gratefully acknowledged.
