Montaigne's Essays

Author: Montaigne
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2005-01-01
Features: Some writers actively engage in the social life of their time, personally experiencing various major events, rising and falling in their fortunes, encountering strange and winding paths, and their lives are enough to constitute a dramatic and suspenseful book that keeps readers on the edge of their seats; some writers are prolific, publishing a vast number of works in diverse genres, and their complete works, when placed on a bookshelf, can dominate its space with their presence. Montaigne does not belong to this category. Although he lived in a time of frequent wars, his life was as clear as water; he was also diligent in writing, but throughout his life, he left us only three volumes of Essays (or translated as Montaigne's Essays), and some of the manuscripts were still published by later generations.
