Features: Zhubingyuanhoulun (Treatise on the Causes and Symptoms of Diseases) was compiled by Chao Yuanyang and others during the Sui Dynasty, completed in the 6th year of the Daye era. The book consists of fifty volumes, divided into sixty-seven sections, and contains one thousand seven hundred thirty-nine discussions. It is the first specialized book in the history of Chinese medicine on etiology, pathology, and symptomology. The entire book summarizes various diseases of the body, both internal and external, as well as gynecology, pediatrics, and ophthalmology, with varying degrees of severity. It can be called a comprehensive collection of symptomology from its era, with extensive coverage and numerous discussions, marking a milestone in the history of symptomology. In the history of medicine, it is ranked alongside the Neijing (Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon) and the Nanjiu (Essentials of Difficult Issues), and is listed as one of the Seven Classics. Due to its ancient publication date, the text is archaic and difficult to understand, compounded by the fact that it has been repeatedly printed and copied over time.
