Features: Supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Yellow River Joint Research Fund Project (50379048), as well as the Wuhan University Academic Affairs Department, the writing and publication of this book were completed. The book is divided into nine chapters.
Chapter 1 introduces the basic concepts, development history, and relationships between geographic information systems (GIS) and other disciplines.
Chapter 2 introduces spatial analysis and data models in GIS, with a focus on spatial data models, which are fundamental theoretical knowledge for spatial analysis.
Chapter 3 introduces the basic methods of raster data spatial analysis, including clustering, aggregation analysis, information composite analysis, and tracing analysis of raster data, as well as window analysis, which are commonly used spatial analysis methods for GIS raster data.
Chapter 4 introduces the basic methods of vector data spatial analysis, including inclusion analysis, buffer analysis, overlay analysis, and network analysis of vector data, which are commonly used spatial analysis methods for GIS vector data.
Chapter 5 discusses spatial measurement and statistical analysis methods, including spatial measurement, spatial interpolation, spatial information classification, and spatial statistical analysis.
Chapter 6 introduces digital elevation models (DEM) and their applications. It first introduces the basic concepts of DTM and DEM, then discusses DTM data acquisition and representation, spatial interpolation methods for DTM, DEM data quality control, and focuses on irregular triangular networks. Finally, it introduces the applications of DEM in cartography and geospatial analysis.
Chapter 7 discusses methods of three-dimensional spatial analysis, mainly introducing the calculation methods of surface area, volume, slope, aspect, and cross-sections, visibility analysis, and hydrological analysis based on DEM. It concludes with examples of three-dimensional spatial analysis.
Chapter 8 introduces the theory of spatial decision support systems.
Chapter 9 introduces several examples of GIS spatial analysis, primarily presenting some achievements of spatial analysis applied by the author in recent years during research projects.
