Features: Since the issuance of the "Provisional Regulations on Design and Construction of Water-Slumping Dams" (SD122—84), it has played a significant role in promoting the construction of water-slumping dams. During this period, the country has gradually intensified the construction of soil and water conservation ecological engineering and has comprehensively carried out the construction of silt-retaining dams in the Loess Plateau region. The number of projects has continuously increased, design and construction technologies have become increasingly refined, and new materials such as geotextiles and polyethylene microporous corrugated pipes have been widely applied. To adapt to the needs of large-scale water-slumping dam construction, the original regulations were revised and renamed the "Technical Specification for Water-Slumping Dams." The basis for revising SD122-84 is the Water Conservancy Technical Standard Compilation Contract [2002] No. 20 and the "Regulations on the Compilation of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Technical Standards" (SL1-2002). This specification consists of 9 chapters, 32 sections, and 6 appendices, with the main technical contents including:
---
---
Engineering Selection and Fill Construction Standards;
---
Dam Section Design;
---
Dam Foundation Treatment and Connection between Dam Body and Structures;
---
Dam Slope Stability and Consolidation Calculation;
---
Construction Organization Design;
---
Construction Project Implementation;
---
Construction Quality Control and Construction Safety.
The main contents of this revision include:
---
---
Adjusting the framework structure of the standard;
---
Adding a chapter on terminology and symbols;
---
Adding content on the application of geotextiles and polyethylene microporous corrugated pipes in water-slumping dams;
---
Adding technical requirements for sandy soil water-slumping dams;
---
Adding content on constructing water-slumping dams for flood retention in water-scarce arid areas;
---
Condensing repetitive content with the "Technical Specification for Design of Roller-Compacted Earth and Rockfill Dams" (SL274-2001), the "Technical Specification for Construction of Roller-Compacted Earth and Rockfill Dams" (DL/T5129-2001), and the "Technical Specification for Soil and Water Conservation Gully Control Key Engineering" (SL289-2003);
---
Adjusting part of the content on observation equipment.
