Compared to developed countries, there is still a certain gap in China. Surfactants are not only the main raw materials for cosmetics and detergents but are also widely used in various sectors of the national economy, such as oil recovery, polymer synthesis, construction materials, chemical metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, coatings, mechanical processing, mineral processing, textiles, food, fermentation, papermaking, leather, medical health, biochemistry, agriculture, pesticides, forestry, and soil improvement. In foreign literature, the composition of cosmetics and detergents, as well as the applications of surfactants in various fields, are mostly presented in commercial names, which has caused great inconvenience for researchers and producers in accessing foreign literature, importing necessary raw materials, developing new products, and improving product quality. To date, except for a few collections of cosmetics and detergents that include some commercial names, no specialized commercial name glossary has been published. Therefore, the compilers have collected over 20,000 commercial names of cosmetics and surfactants from published foreign professional journals and related literature over the past two decades, making this book a valuable reference tool for researchers, producers, suppliers, and information personnel in the fields of cosmetics and surfactant usage. During the compilation process, the book has been supported by Professor Luo Xiqian and Senior Engineer Liu Youcai of the China Daily Chemical Industry Information Center. Their assistance is deeply appreciated. Although every effort has been made to ensure comprehensiveness and perfection, omissions and shortcomings are inevitable due to the limitations of the sources and the compilers' expertise.
