The Thoughts of Gwangsoo is a comic collection in three volumes, authored by Park Gwangsoo. Through the character "Shin Borye," Park Gwangsoo compiles the small, everyday moments of life—both those that happen to others and those that happen to himself. The comics are highly philosophical, with each section offering an allegory or a warning, provoking deep reflection. In Korea, the book has received high praise and has been compared to Popeye's spinach, giving people endless strength; sometimes, it's likened to mint candy, refreshing the soul; at other times, it leaves one feeling empty, prompting a search for something more; sometimes, it brings a sense of oppression, making one yearn for release; and sometimes, it makes one laugh, but the laughter is often followed by a profound emotion. The Thoughts of Gwangsoo represents the highest achievement in contemporary Korean comic creation, with annual sales exceeding 1,500,000 copies and ranking at the top of Korea's comic bestseller lists for three consecutive years.
