Features: This book is one of the content of the "Research, Practice, and Reform of the Teaching Content System for Chemical Courses in Higher Vocational and Technical Education" approved by the Ministry of Education's "Project Plan for Reform and Construction of Talent Cultivation Models and Teaching Content Systems in New Century Higher Vocational and Technical Education" (Project No. Ⅲ29—2). The Ministry of Education pointed out in the document that "the approved projects are major educational and teaching research projects organized by the Ministry of Education, which hold great significance for promoting the reform and construction of higher vocational and technical education in China." Our research goal is to reform the past model where chemical textbooks for different majors had almost identical content. Instead of "chemistry close to medicine," we aim to adopt "medicine-oriented chemistry" based on training objectives, with the principles of practicality and sufficiency as the foundation, while paying attention to reflecting the forefront of related disciplines. We have written a new textbook for higher vocational and technical education titled "Medical Chemistry." This book simplifies structural theory, removes complex reaction mechanisms, and adds a section on daily life chemistry, including food chemistry, polymer chemistry, environmental chemistry, and pharmaceutical chemistry. It enables students to grasp chemical knowledge in daily life, which is very beneficial for disease prevention and treatment. The content, such as the relationship between drug molecular structure and pharmacological activity, and chemical incompatibilities during medication preparation, provides students with useful knowledge for future medical treatment and medication preparation.
