Features: This book consists of two science fiction works by the renowned Soviet scientist Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, hailed as the "Father of Rocketry." In the Outer World takes place in the year 2017 and the following decades. A group of scientists and technicians from different countries travel to space in rockets they built themselves. They first orbit the Earth, then land on the Moon, and continue on to the vicinity of Mars before eventually returning to Earth. Inspired by their courageous spirit of exploration, people on Earth also immigrate in large numbers to outer space, settling in greenhouse cities orbiting the Earth. The book predictively portrays life aboard the rocket ship, depicts the immigrant society of the space city, and narrates various wonders on the Moon, asteroids, and in the interstellar space of the solar system. On the Moon describes the landscape of the lunar surface in the first person, drawing on a young boy's dream, covering aspects such as gravity, rocks, temperatures, and celestial phenomena. Both stories combine scientific knowledge with vivid imagination, although written in the early 20th century, they remain highly suitable for today's young readers. At the end of the book is a postscript written by Professor Lu Jufu of the University of Science and Technology of China.
