Features: This book is one of the "21st Century Legal Textbooks Series" organized and compiled by the Law School of Renmin University of China. Since the late 1970s, the study of criminal law in China has become increasingly prosperous. However, for a long time, the Chinese criminal law academia has not given sufficient attention to the study of foreign criminal law, particularly Anglo-American criminal law. The fact that there are still few textbooks on Anglo-American criminal law written by scholars in mainland China is evidence of this. The "Foreign Criminal Law" courses offered by universities in China to undergraduate and graduate students are generally based on civil law criminal law cases, seemingly lacking a complete and profound theoretical system. This view is at least not inferior to the deep philosophical foundations of civil law criminal theory, and its meticulous legislative drafting, refined language, and rigorous logic are no less than those of criminal law legislation in civil law countries. More importantly, without sufficient understanding and research of the world of law as China increasingly integrates into it, the study of criminal law in China will be incomplete, and China will also be unable to join the ranks of developed countries in criminal law research. In light of this, we have strived to compile the book "Anglo-American Criminal Law," hoping that its publication can provide basic clues and knowledge for the Chinese criminal law academia to understand and study Anglo-American criminal law.
