Features: "The Southern Yunnan Herbal" has been passed down for over 500 years. Through long-term practice, it has proven to be a highly valuable ancient classic of Chinese medicinal herbology. "The Southern Yunnan Herbal" was written by Lan Mao, a native of Shiyangshan in Yanglin, Songming County, Yunnan Province. Lan Mao, styled Tinglu, was originally from Luoyang, Henan. He was born in the 30th year of the Hongwu era (1397 AD) of the Ming Dynasty and died in the 12th year of the Chenghua era (1476 AD), aged 80. According to relevant records, the Lan family lived as commoners all their lives, often collecting herbs and treating illnesses across various parts of Yunnan, earning the love of the people. During its long circulation, "The Southern Yunnan Herbal" was revised, supplemented, and annotated by Chinese medicinal practitioners of the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as included in related historical records and copied by the people. As a result, not only do different versions exist, but some even contradict each other in certain places. Additionally, due to the limitations of the historical conditions under which the author lived, various ancient editions of "The Southern Yunnan Herbal" contain certain errors and inaccuracies. Therefore, to inherit this national cultural heritage, it is necessary to follow the principle of innovation while preserving the essence, discarding the dross, so that it can better serve humanity.
