Features: In the era of the booming knowledge economy, topics such as clothing, food, housing, transportation, healthcare, well-being, tourism, and entertainment have increasingly become indispensable and closely integrated components of daily life. In these fields, for our, translation workers, international friends who admire Chinese culture and diligently study Chinese, as well as young scholars, possessing a wealth of relevant English and Chinese vocabulary can enable them to "have everything in mind." When it is necessary to introduce situations or communicate in various settings, they will neither suffer from "running out of words" nor enjoy the pleasure of "seizing opportunities effortlessly"—how delightful is that! In response to the above situation and in line with the demands of development, we have planned and compiled this set of "English-Chinese and Chinese-English Common Word Collection," consisting of six volumes: "Clothing and Fashion," "Food and Culture," "Housing and Dwellings," "Public Transportation," "Tourism and Entertainment," and "Healthcare and Wellness." Each volume has its own unique features, making it independently self-contained. However, when the volumes involve specialized topics that overlap with one another, they can also connect and complement each other. The entire series contains approximately 2.1 million words and includes over 300,000 entries. Each volume has 350,000 words and over 50,000 entries.
The "English-Chinese and Chinese-English Common Word Collection: Housing and Dwellings" collects over 50,000 English-Chinese and Chinese-English entries. It covers topics such as: housing structures, interior decoration, public facilities, foreign architecture, home components, rural construction, and religious buildings. The English-Chinese section is arranged in alphabetical order, while the Chinese-English section is first categorized and then arranged by Pinyin order.
