Features: In the era of the booming knowledge economy, topics such as clothing, food, housing, transportation, healthcare, well-being, tourism, and entertainment have increasingly become indispensable and closely integrated components of daily life. In these fields, for our enthusiasts, translation professionals, international friends who admire Chinese culture and diligently study the Chinese language, as well as young scholars, possessing a wealth of relevant English and Chinese vocabulary can enable them to "have everything in mind." When necessary, in various settings or during exchanges, they can avoid the agony of "running out of words" and enjoy the pleasure of "seizing opportunities on both sides"—what could be better! Addressing the above situation and in line with the demands of development, we have planned and compiled this set of "English-Chinese and Chinese-English Common Word Collection," consisting of six volumes: "Clothing and Fashion," "Food and Culture," "Housing and Dwellings," "Public Transportation," "Tourism and Entertainment," and "Healthcare and Wellness." Each volume has its own unique features, making it independently self-contained. However, when volumes involve specialized content that overlaps, they can also connect and complement each other. The entire series contains approximately 2.1 million words and includes over 300,000 entries. Each volume has 350,000 words and over 50,000 entries.
The "English-Chinese and Chinese-English Common Word Collection: Food and Culture" collects over 50,000 English-Chinese and Chinese-English entries. It includes: beans and bean products, dairy products, seasonings, sweets, grain products, canned foods, pastries, dried and fresh fruits, beverages, Western cuisine, Chinese cuisine, tea, vegetables, aquatic products, meat, wild game, drinks, and nutritional supplements. The English-Chinese section is arranged in alphabetical order, while the Chinese-English section is first categorized and then arranged in pinyin order.
