Features: Academic exchange is one of the most important driving forces for academic development and prosperity. Since the reform and opening-up, we have successively translated and introduced a series of foreign educational theory works, which have played a very positive role in promoting the development of educational research in China and improving the level of educational research. However, after the 1990s, the work of translating and introducing educational theory works has weakened. Among the existing translated educational theory works, there are relatively more monographic works, while comprehensive and highly ideological works are fewer, and those that do exist are mostly from before World War II. Many frequently cited works and authors after the 1990s have been misinterpreted due to the lack of systematic translation. To address this, we have planned this series of influential educational theory translations. The focus of the selection is on works with strong ideological and comprehensive qualities, broad academic coverage, and high originality, with a time preference for the 1980s and later. Although some of these works are difficult to translate, we hope to tackle the challenges and contribute to foundational work. At the same time, we hope scholars and colleagues will pay attention to the progress of this work, offer advice, recommend works, participate in translation, and continuously improve the quality of this series.
