Features: A Hundred Years of Yin-Yang Calendar is a reading on the Yin-Yang combined calendar. This is extracted from the astronomical calculations in the Siku Quanshu (Complete Library of the Four Treasuries). Some of the terms are archaic names from ancient times. The book follows a calendar format, with one grid for each day. It starts with the Gregorian calendar and then matches it with the lunar calendar, weekdays, the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, the Five Elements, Taidian (a traditional method of determining auspicious and inauspicious days), and celestial stars. In this way, each day contains seven items of content. This meets the basic requirements of folk calendars. The customs of using folk calendars are diverse, involving both the annual and monthly auspicious and inauspicious periods, as well as solar terms and specific days. Some are used for agricultural calculations, others for recording birthdays; some for harmonizing the Eight Characters (BaZi), and others for determining annual luck, and so on, without end.
