Features: It wasn't until the turn of the century that Cézanne began to gain increasing recognition and admiration. Artists from various countries, including the avant-garde masters such as Matisse, Picasso, Braque, Vlaminck, and Derain, greatly praised him. As a painting master from Provence, his style also influenced the younger generation in the Russian art world, making outstanding contributions to the creation of new art. However, Cézanne faced neglect during his lifetime. In October 1906, when Cézanne passed away in Aix, Parisian newspapers published obituaries for him, but the wording was vague and ambiguous, claiming that due to his congenital visual impairment, he was a flawed genius, an artist who was not truly an artist, whose works were vulgar and that he could only draw sketches. Throughout his life, these insulting criticisms were a common occurrence for Cézanne, and even after his death, people continued to criticize him harshly near his grave.
